DAYS OF THE WEEK!

Today in Maths we were talking about the Days of the Week.  We watched this cool video...

We had to cut up the Days of the Week and put them in the right order.

Some children had to stand in the order of the Days of the Week.  We sang the song to check we were right!

You can help at home by getting us to recite the days of the week in order, or ask us what day comes before/after any given day.

TIME AND TEMPERTURE!

Today in Maths we were talking about TIME.  We learnt that the day is broken up into different sections:  Morning, Afternoon, Evening and Night.

We do different things at different times of the day.  

We had to sort pictures of the different things we do, into the time of the day that we do it.

You could help us learn about time by telling us what we are going to do during the day.

READING IN THE JUNGLE!

We love reading in the Jungle.  We can sit outside in the shade of the building on the lily-pads and read some books

TREATY OF WAITANGI!

Today we learnt about the Treaty of Waitangi.  We watched this video that explains how the treay was signed a long time ago.

Then we made up our own rules for Piako 2.

We signed our very own treaty using our fingerprints.

TEAM BUILDING FUN!

Today we had different rotations with each of our teachers.  

This activity was all about working together as a team.  We had to walk together at the same speed to ensure we didn't drop the balloon.  We also needed to be careful that we didn't squeeze our balloons too tight or they would pop!

SNACK TIME!

Each morning at 10am we have our healthy snack.  Rio, Nate, Ethan and Max get the mats and trays out for us.  Here are a couple of photos having some food and fun!

FIRST DAY FUN!

We had a great first day!

Here are a few photos of what we got up to.  We learnt some new maths games, we read a poem together and in the afternoon we went swimming which was great because it was SO hot!
