Over the last few weeks we have been busy designing gifts to give to the special people in our lives. On Friday we started making our gifts. Here are a few photos taken by Petra, of us busy making our gifts
Today's Genius Hour focused on us being COMPETENT. We had to make/draw/write about an animal of our choice but we had to demonstrate that we were competent. It was great to see how many different ways we could show how competent we were.
Here are a few photos of us...
This week Mrs Lunn has given us some thinking challenges to do in Maths.
On Monday we has a problem about cookies. We had 10 cookies and some were chocolate and some were plain. We had to work out all the possibilities of how many of each biscuit we could have.
On Tuesday, we had to draw a picture of a snowman. It had to be made out of 16 circles.
On Wednesday, we had to draw a friend for Robot. It had to have a square, an oval, a triangle and a star included in it's design. Here are a few photos of us in thinking action!
Some of the kids also made a maths game for us to play. Here they are telling us all about it.
For Term Three's Right Choice Day, we dressed up in our PJs!
We held auditions for Riverdale's Got Talent and the finalists when through to the big show in the Hall after morning tea. Here are a few photos of us displaying our talents.
Today Piako Rua held their Inventors Fair. We invited our parents to come and see our inventions. We also asked Ms Harnett and Mrs Harland. Mrs Best, Miss Mac and Miss Bryant brought the Piako Tahi children too. We invited Poutama to come and TC's kids came too!
First we had a few of our Candylanders talk about the process we went through to make our inventions.
Then people were free to wander around and look at the inventions and talk to the inventors. They then had to choose which invention best met the success criteria and we awarded some prizes.
Congratulations kids! You are all amazing inventors!
