FRACTIONS FRACTIONS

We are learning about Fractions again this term building on our introductory knowledge from term one.  Here is the song we like to sing that explains fractions to us...

and a video that explains what Fractions are...

Mrs Lunn found this cool Egg Fraction game you might like to let us play at home.  Here's the link...

Today we coloured in the fraction of a shape.  We learnt about halves, quarters and thirds.  You might like to use this language with us at home for example: Would you like a quarter of an apple or a half?

MULTIPLICATION IN MATHS

This week some of us have been learning about multiplication.  We are reading 3 x 2 and 3 lots of 2.
Today we were putting teddies into houses and working out how many we had altogether.
Mrs Lunn taught us to skip count the bears
(we need to remember we can only skip count set that are EQUAL!)

You can help us at home by getting us to skip count in 2s, 5s, and 10s.
If we get flash at that, we could try skip counting in 3s and 4s!!!

Here is a photo of one group working with Mrs Lunn to learn multiplication.

The kids enjoyed this activity so much that they went and played it by themselves!
Clever cookies.

Mrs Lunn also held a Fractions workshop today.
Here are some kids playing Fractions Bingo.

This a song we watch and sing along to, to learn about Fractions.
Please get us to sing it to you...
